Internal Structure, Petrography and Mineralogy of Beryl in Bahr-e-Abad Area, East of Afghanistan

This paper deals with the study of beryl, its variety, petrographic, and gemological specifications in Bahr-e-Abad area Jalalabad city. Beryl is a relatively rare silicate mineral, cyclo-silicate, chemical composition Be3Al2 (Si6O18) hexagonal crystal shape. It found igneous metamorphic rocks many parts world. In order to achieve aim this paper, three methods, namely; library work, fieldwork, lab were conducted, about 20 specimens collected from above-mentioned taken Afghanistan Geological Survey (AGS) for making thin sections spectrometry analysis. related tectonic zone Jalalabad. located eastern part southeast Nuristan zone. Correspondingly, upper Cambrian or younger Cambrian. area, age Archean- Middle Proterozoic AR-PR2. mineral mostly Europe, Norway, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Russia, Brazil, US, Colombia, Pakistan. counted as one world’s leading countries having rare-metal pegmatites, which are present Afghanistan’s pegmatite belts Afghanistan. widely available veins Nuristan, Sistan, Panjshir, Laghman. All groups intrusive rocks. that situated within veins, besides beryl generally have same contain plagioclase, feldspar alkali (sodium-potassium), mica (phlogopite biotite) minerals. microcline – albite type.
